Sunshine Hospitality Home
Grand Forks, ND
The Sunshine Memorial Foundation is a North Dakota non-profit that was established in 2012. The foundation was started by the parents of a young woman who passed away in 2007 at the age of 31 from heatstroke while hiking in Arizona. The purpose of the Foundation is to raise money for charitable programs promoting their daughter’s attitude of helping others. One of the Foundation’s most recent projects is the Sunshine Hospitality Home. The Home provides patients and their family members a place to stay while seeking medical treatment in Grand Forks. Many of Grand Forks’ patients come from surrounding towns making travel and the cost of a hotel on top of healthcare expenses expensive and often leaves families with no place to stay. The 18,000 s.f. Hospitality Home takes some of the financial burden off families and provides individuals with a place to sleep, eat, keep their belongings, relax, and find comfort while their loved one seeks treatment. ICON donated all design services and was excited to give back to the community.
