University of North Dakota Athletics High Performance Center

Grand Forks, ND

Phase I
To aid in attracting the best student-athletes, the University of North Dakota desired an updated indoor athletic training facility to accommodate student-athletes’ needs during both the regular season and the off-season. The new High Performance Center now serves as the year-round indoor training center for UND Athletics.
The 185,000 s.f. facility is adjacent to the existing outdoor football field which allows the team to practice both indoors and outdoors. The flexibility of the facility also allows for intramurals and recreational use. The facility is primarily used by the University of North Dakota football team and track and field teams.
• Full-sized football field with a breakout area
• 300M Mondo track with linemen practice area
• Long-jump/triple-jump pits
Phase II
Currently in the fundraising stage, Phase II will include spectator seating, an attached sports medicine and athletic training center, weight training, a UND Athletics Hall of Fame, an academic center for student-athletes, classrooms, locker rooms, and a sauna. Phase II will also include meeting rooms as well as coaches, administrative, and recruitment offices. Upon completion of Phase II, the building will be equipped to host competitions for track and field events.
